GUJRAT: A boy was killed and three others, including a minor boy, were critically injured when a bus hit their motorbike at Nonawali Stop along Kharian-Dina Road on Tuesday. Rescue 1122 officials said Mujtaba (16) was going along with 40 years old woman Fakharunnisa (40), Maryam (35) and her two-year-old son Muhammad Khan when a bus hit their motorcycle. Mujtaba died on the spot while the three others sustained serious injuries. The injured were shifted to Kharian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. District Police Officer Dr Mustanser Atta Bajwa has suspended two station house officers (SHOs) for showing negligence in performing their duties. Sources said Daulatnagar SHO Sub-Inspector Ghulam Murtaza was suspended after an under custody outlaw was shot dead by rivals in Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police precincts. The deceased was being brought to Gujrat by Daulatnagar police after his arrest at Karachi airport upon his return from Saudi Arabia. Similarly, the DPO paid a surprise visit to city’s B-division police station on Monday night and found the duty policeman absent from the main gate. He immediately suspended SHO Sub-Inspector Zulfiqar Goraya. Later, the DPO posted SI Nauman Hassan as B-division SHO, SI Tauqeer Ranjha as Daulatnagar SHO and SI Raja Ahsanullah as Gujrat Saddar SHO.
