SAHIWAL: Fateh Sher police have registered a case against Ali Husnain and two unidentified persons for interfering with a polio vaccination team in village 82/6-R on Tuesday. The case was registered on a complaint filed by Naseem Akhtar, the head of the polio vaccination team. According to the report, the polio vaccination team -- Lady Health Visitor Shahnaz Abdullah, Farkhanda, Uzma Amanat and Asim -- along with a sample collection team arrived in the village to carry out their duties. They were approached by Ali and two other men, who arrived at Mukhtar Ahmad’s house. They stopped the team from vaccinating the children, claiming it was an order from someone else. When the polio team questioned him, Ali became aggressive leading to a heated argument and a scuffle between the parties. Villagers intervened and helped the team leave the area safely. Health CEO Azhar Naqvi ordered that a case be registered. Local villagers revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between the families of Mukhtar Ahmed and Ali. Police have arrested Ali and are working to identify the other two individuals involved.
