Up to 80 local people, led by Muhammad Javaid and Muhammad Afzal, started pelting the LDA team with stones besides hurling life threats to the team members. The LDA team members fled the spot and gathered at the main road but the attackers chased them and kept pelting them with stones. The pedestrians on the road also took cover when the attackers hurled stones n them. The forced the LDA team to return without completing the operation. “Despite submission of the application on our part, the police have yet to register the case against the accused people,” a senior LDA official told Dawn. On the other hand, the LDA has sought removal of all temporary and permanent encroachments and closure of illegal commercial activities in Avenue-1, Jubilee Town and Mohlanwal housing schemes.
