Two killed, 15 injured after truck overturns

TAXILA: Two persons were killed and 15 others injured when a mini-truck overturned on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway near Ghazi Interchange in the limits of Hazro police station on Saturday. The dead and injured belonged to the same family which was travelling from Kalam to Mandi Bahauddin. The National Highway and Motorway Police and Rescue 1122 sources said the family was travelling on a mini-truck. When they reached near Ghazi Interchange, the truck’s axel broke down as a result of which the vehicle overturned, resulting in the death of Mohammad Usman, 14, and Dua Bibi, 4. As many as 15 people, including six women and three children, were injured in the accident. Hazro police have registered a case and launched further investigation. A 13-year-old boy was shot dead over some petty dispute in Pind Jungle in New Airport police station limits of Attock on Saturday. Mohsin Shahzad reported to police that Waseem Nadeem, a classmate of his son Arslan, who was a grade 4 student at a local school, quarrelled with him over some petty dispute while returning home from school. Upon reaching home, Arslan narrated his ordeal to his father who took him to Waseem’s house to inquire about the matter. Upon seeing them, Waseem’s father named Nadeem Mansab along with his brother out of rage attacked them with sticks and later Nadeem took out his pistol and shot Mohsin dead and fled away. Later police traced the suspect and arrested him and also recovered his pistol which he used to kill the boy.
