MIANWALI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Noor Muhammad Bismal on Tuesday handed down death sentence on five counts each to seven suspects for killing five people. Reports said two tribes in Mianwali, namely Yaroo Khel and Kundi, had an old enmity. In 2018, members of the Yaroo Khel tribe ambushed five people including Nauman Kundi, Mehran Kundi, Abdul Waheed Kundi, and a passerby from Khanewal, near Truck Adda, Mianwali City. The victims were on their way to attend a hearing at the sessions court when they were killed in an indiscriminate shooting. The court handed down death sentence on five counts to Arshad Khan, Jehanzeb Khan, Khalas Khan, Rehtas Khan, Fraz Khan, Amir Mohammad Khan, and an absconder, Dil Jan Khan, who was sentenced in absentia. A huge police contingent remained present at the sessions court to avoid any untoward incident between the two tribes after the announcement of the decision.
