Two killed as truck hits motorcycle in Dera

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two persons were killed and another got injured when a truck hit a motorcycle on Dera-Daraban road here on Tuesday. Police said that two brothers Ahmad Bashir Kuhawar and Rizwan Kuhawar along with their 16-year-old nephew Gul Qadeer were coming from Gandi Ashiq area to Dera Ismail Khan when a truck hit their motorcycle near Darwesha Adda on Dera-Daraban road. Ahmad Bashir and Gul Qadeer died on the spot while Rizwan got injuries in the accident. Meanwhile, Mohammad Arslan, a private security guard at a shoe shop, was electrocuted in the limits of City police station. A training session for field force involved in Pakistan’s 7th Agricultural Census began at district auditorium hall here on Tuesday. The training will continue till Nov 13. The training session for the second batch is scheduled from Nov 14 to Nov 16. The agricultural census is the first comprehensive digital count of agricultural land, crops, livestock and machinery in the country. The census is meant to ensure accuracy and transparency of agricultural statistics, providing reliable data for informed decision-making. Field operations, including counting of large agricultural holdings will take place during December and January. The training session was led by chief statistical officer and master trainer Ihsanul Haq, who highlighted collaboration between Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and other partners for the initiative. He said that the census would contribute significantly to improve economic landscape and provide reliable data for evidence-based policymaking.
