KHYBER: Bara Private Schools Association on Tuesday demanded unconditional and honourable release of one of its senior member, who was arrested under terrorism charges and an alleged murder case. Addressing a news conference in Bara Press Club, the members of association said that Khan Wali, principal of a private school, was wrongly implicated in case of terrorism and murder of an unidentified person after his active participation in Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement jirga in Jamrud on October 11. They also condemned shifting of Khan Wali to an undisclosed location by sleuths of intelligence agencies from the premises of a court in Jamrud. They said that he should be immediately presented before court for legal proceedings. The association members threatened to start a series of protest demonstrations across the province after consultations with other associations if their arrested colleague was denied legal procedure to defend himself. In Landi Kotal, civil society activists staged a demonstration at the local grid station against unscheduled power loadshedding. They accused the grid station staffers of violating their own accord of providing locals with four hours of electricity and would not resort to more than 20 hours of power suspension after the start of winter. Two persons were killed and an FC man was critically injured in two separate incidents in Jamrud and Tirah on Tuesday. Police in Jamrud said that unidentified motorcyclists fired at two young men in Ghundi area that resulted in the killing of Zuhaib. His companion Abdullah, an FC man, received critical injuries in the attack. In Khujalkhel locality of Tirah, unidentified gunmen attacked a water tanker, which was taking water to a security check post in Bhutan Shareef. Sources said that the attack left the driver, Zar Shah, a resident of Malagori, dead on the spot. The attackers also torched the water tanker and fled the area. Though nobody claimed responsibility for the attack, the region where the incident took place, was considered a bastion of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and their local affiliates of proscribed Lashkar-i-Islam, they added.
