LAHORE: The police lodged an FIR against the Hadyara station house officer (SHO) and other police officials soon after a suspect arrested in a drug-selling case managed to flee the police station. The case was lodged on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Khalil Ahmad, who alleged that the suspect, Naeem Javed, was arrested by the police for illegally possessing 1,960 grams of charas. He was handed over to the Hadyara police after a case was registered against him. During custody, he said, the suspect fled the police station due to the alleged negligence of SHO Hammad Hameed and other police officials. The FIR was registered after a preliminary inquiry found them negligent. The police officials have yet to be arrested.
