SUKKUR: The second additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sentenced five accused to death and imposed on them fine of Rs10 million after they were found guilty of killing a youth in Kashmore about three and a half years ago. The judge Ghulam Qadir Tunio declared in the verdict that former district president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Manzoor Ahmad Khoso; his brother former town chairman of Kashmore Israr Ahmed Khoso, Haji Niaz Ahmed, Nisar Ahmed and Ali Hassan Khoso did kill Javed Ahmed Khoso and hence awarded them capital punishment and Rs10 million fine The convicts were whisked away to Sukkur Central Jail after the pronouncement of the verdict. They had earlier been on bail. The convicts were accused in an FIR by the victim Javed Khoso’s father Ehsan Khoso of murdering his son in the wake of a dispute between two groups over a piece of agricultural land within the jurisdiction of Kashmore police station. In another case lodged by the convicts’ side against Ehsan Khoso and Sufi Bashir Ahmed Khoso, who were accused of wounding Manzoor Khoso, Zahoor Ahmed Khoso, and his private gunman Abdul Hameed Chandio, the judge found Ehsan and Sufi Bashir innocent and acquitted them of charges. Meanwhile, a large number of relatives and supporters of the convicts reached the judicial lock to meet them but they were not allowed.
