Information technology training portal for youth launched

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to enhance the knowledge and expertise of youth in IT sector the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom and Huawei Technologies Pakistan have agreed to launch the information and communications technology(ICT) Training Portal. The portal serves as a unified platform connecting recent graduates with IT companies, offering hands-on experience with the state-of-the-art technologies. The portal includes modules on the latest ICT trends such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics. The Pakistan ICT Training Portal Programme, aims to train graduates by connecting them with IT companies for internships over the next three years. Talking on the occasion, Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatimasaid that the programme seeks to enhance digital literacy and prepare the youth for the challenges of the modern digital landscape. The ICT Training Portal will serve as a unified platform connecting IT companies with recent graduates, providing them internship opportunities and hands-on experience in state-of-the-art technologies. Deputy CEO Huawei Technologies Pakistan Ahmed Bilal Masudsaid that investments in the youth, will pave the way for skilled workforce that will drive Pakistan’s economic growth and technological advancement. The training by Huawei’s local resources and global expertise will foster skill development and innovation in the ICT in Pakistan. In another development Huawei has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Comsats University Islamabad, under which the company will help enhance technical vocational training and skill development of students and young technicians by equipping them with the latest ICT technologies. While Huawei is the global leader in information and communications technology (ICT), and Pakistan has the second largest base of the company after China in terms of research & development. Under the MoU, Huawei will provide Co0msats University Islamabad with equipment and train their resources in delivering the technical training to the attendees of these courses. Initially, this programme will commence with the Comsats University Islamabad, Lahore campus. Subsequently Comsats University Islamabad will also help develop a similar facility in Karachi. This collaboration is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
