LOWER DIR: Additional district and sessions judge on Friday awarded life imprisonment and Rs500,000 fine to a 70-year-old resident in a triple murder case. The amount of fine will be given away to legal heirs of the deceased. The court also sentenced convict Shamshad’s three sons, Shafiur Rehman, 21, Ihsanullah, 30, and Anwar Zaib, 38, to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years in the case. All those residents of Nagri Bala village in Talash area will serve jail term for one more year for damaging a tractor of the complainants. The court pronounced that the prosecution had proved charges against the accused. It, however, declared that the death penalty wasn’t awarded to the main accused as the prosecution didn’t establish the alleged motive of the murders. The convicts killed Habibun Nabi, Sultan Zaib and Sultan Nabi and injured Abdar Khan on Nov 16, 2021, in Nagri Bala area in the latter’s field.
