TOBA TEK SINGH: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched a ‘historic’ agriculture graduate internship programme which will engage 1,000 graduates at Rs60,000 per month stipend. She distributed hiring letters among the graduates at a ceremony held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said 95 PC ministers in her cabinet were young. She said not a single job had been given in Punjab in violation of merit under her rule. She said there was no such example in the past of introducing kisan package. She said 50,000 farmers have been delivered Kissan cards which will be activated from Oct 15. Later, she presided over a meeting of local PML-N leaders and ticket-holders at the Commissioner Office. The chief minister promised an IT city, a safari park and metro bus project in Faisalabad.The CM was given a detailed briefing on ongoing health, education, roads infrastructure and municipal services projects as well as about law and order situation in Faisalabad division. During the meeting, she directed Secretary C&W by phone to upgrade the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura road.
