National junior badminton reaches semi-final stage

LAHORE: The boys’ and girls’ events in the Under-19 category of the National Junior Badminton Championship, ongoing here at the Nishtar Sports Complex, entered the semi-final stage on Wednesday. The U-15 and U-17 competitions also reached the quarter-finals. In the U-19 men’s singles Inayat Fareed, M. Tahir Subhani, Abdullah Tahir, Haroon Khuram, Mohammad Ahmad Gujjar and Junaid Tariq — all from Punjab — made the last four. Mohammad Hashir and Mohammad Taimur from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also qualified for the semi-finals. U-19 men’s singles quarter-finals: Inayat Fareed (Punjab) bt Muhammad Zaid (KP) 17-21, 23-21, 21-13; M.
