Music icon Sam Moore had died at the age of 89 after suffering from surgery complications. The musician, who is known for inspiring the likes of the late legend Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen, tragically passed away on Friday, January 10, following his surgery in Coral Gables Fla. His death was confirmed by his beloved wife and longtime manager Joyce Moor in a statement to The New York Times. Moore rose to fame in the late 1950s’ after he crossed paths with his future partner Dave Prater, prompting them to perform together at the King of Hearts club in Miami in 1961. By 1964, the duo was offered a generous contract by Atlantic Records as a result of their back-to-back hit performances. Throughout their time together in the 1960s’, the pair released R&B hits, including and Speaking of their duet performances, Moore said in the 1998 book , “It was a duo. But it wasn’t a partnership.” On professional front, they managed to top several charts, reaching No. 2 with their spectacular performances in 1967.
