Pakistan resumed their first innings on the third day at 64-3, trailing South Africa in the second Test at Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town. The Shan Masood-led side faced early setbacks on Saturday as they sought to chase down the hosts' imposing 615-run total. With Babar Azam (31*) and Mohammad Rizwan (9*) at the crease, the visitors aim to stabilise their innings and improve their position in the match. On the second day, Pakistan had a dismal start to their innings, losing three quick wickets, including skipper Shan Masood in the first over, dismissed by Kagiso Rabada. Kamran Ghulam followed in the sixth over, leaving the Green Shirts reeling at 18-2. Rabada struck again in the ninth over, removing Saud Shakeel for a duck. Already down 1-0 in the two-match series, Pakistan must win the second Test to level the series. Earlier, South Africa posted an imposing first-innings total of 615, thanks to a remarkable 259-run knock by makeshift opener Ryan Rickelton. Kyle Verreynne added to the carnage with a blistering century off just 147 balls, leaving Pakistan's bowling attack struggling to find answers. Among the bowlers, Mohammad Abbas and Salman Ali Agha claimed three wickets each, while Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad chipped in with two dismissals apiece. Shan Masood (captain), Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Agha, Aamer Jamal, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mir Hamza. Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Wiaan Mulder, Tristan Stubbs, Temba Bavuma (captain), David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne (wk), Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka
