KARACHI: A jobless man reportedly suffering from some ‘mental illness’ tried to take his own life with a gun after killing his wife and wounding two passers-by in the Kalri area of Lyari late on Saturday night, said police said on Sunday. They added that Ghulam Rasool, 30, shot dead his wife Saba, 35, and wounded two passers-by Yar Mohammed, 46, and Ms Bilqees Bano, 55, and later on shot himself as well in Street-11 near Quba Masjid in Nayabad. All the injured people were taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi where Saba succumbed to her wounds during treatment on Sunday morning. The condition of Ghulam Rasool was also stated to be critical. The injured people told the police that since light had gone in the area, they could not see the person who resorted to firing, resulting in bullet injuries to them. DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said that wounded Ghulam Rasool was unemployed and ‘mentally unstable’. A partially decomposed body of a man was found inside a well in Shah Latif Town on Sunday, police and rescue services officials said. Rescue-1122 official Hassaan Khan told that the body was found floating in the water inside 250-feet deep well.
