KARACHI: Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday directed that the departmental promotion committee (DPC) to hold its meetings for the promotion of all employees and officers across all grades, ensuring the process is carried out without discrimination or bias. He also called for the identification of departments that can be merged with others. All officers are expected to work diligently and passionately for the betterment and development of their organisation. Capable, hardworking, and talented officers will be appointed within the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to improve its performance. He made these remarks during a meeting at his office, attended by departmental heads, directors, additional directors, and officers awaiting appointments from grades 18 to 20. Mayor Wahab emphasised that the purpose of the meeting was to enhance KMC’s overall performance and provide the citizens of Karachi with the best possible facilities through effective local government services. The departmental heads and officers of KMC are responsible for improving the performance of their departments and ensuring the prompt, effective implementation of policies for the city’s benefit.
