As we prepare to bid farewell to the ongoing year, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai recalled all the lessons learned and the memories the peace activist made in 2024. Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, Malala shared a series of pictures and videos, mentioning some of the stories about the memories she made in 2024. The peace and human rights advocate shared the goal she had set of running on the treadmill for an hour but she could only run on it for a few minutes. "Then one day in September, I got on the treadmill and just didn’t stop! Even after the hour was over, I felt like I could keep going," she wrote. She said that for her, running was not giving up at first but now her body wants to achieve more. The 27-year-old then spoke about her husband, Asser Malik, saying that she loves having him by her side for big events and quiet moments. "He brings joy wherever he goes and helps me see the world in new ways," she said. Malala also shared how she is thankful for her friends, recalling how she treasured the long walks, longer dinners and late-night chats with them. The activist further said that she was inspired by Afghan women and girls the most. "From students and athletes to activists and filmmakers, I witnessed Afghans around the world leading the fight against the Taliban’s oppressive regime of gender apartheid," she wrote. She hoped that everyone would support them in their fight and efforts and deliver education and equality for all Afghans. "May your 2025 be full of love, friendship and good health. May peace and justice find a home in every corner of our world," Malala wrote in the post.
