Woman, son killed in attack on house by rivals

LARKANA: A woman and her son died when their rivals stormed their house and fired indiscriminately at all inmates in Karam Shah village, Larkana district, while a man and woman were killed in Philhree village, Qambar-Shahdadkot district, in the name of honour on Wednesday. A group of armed men sneaked into the house of Mashooq Gadhi in Karam Shah village in the wee hours of Wednesday and opened fire indiscriminately, killing Zahida Gadhi, 50, and her son Mujahid Gadhi, 20, and injuring Mashooq Gadhi, 55, and his daughter Murik Gadhi, 14, said police officials. They said the killers escaped the scene after committing the crime while the injured were shifted to Trauma Centre, Larkana. Larkana Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Mir Rohal Khan Khoso inspected the crime scene along with the area police and shifted the bodies to Dokri taluka headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities. The condition of the wounded was stated to be stable. The victims’ relatives accused Jagirani clansmen living in Ghouspur town, who were at daggers drawn with them over a matrimonial issue, of the attacking the house. They urged the IGP, Larkana DIG and SSP to arrest the killers immediately. Man, woman killed for honour Faizal Umrani and Sardran Khatoon were killed in Philhree village in the jurisdiction of Sujawal police station, Qambar-Shahdadkot district, reportedly in the name of honour on Wednesday. The area police collected primary evidence from the crime scene and shifted the dead bodies to Shahdadkot taluka hospital. Larkana Deputy Inspector General of Police Nasir Aftab took notice of the incident and directed Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Kaleem Malik to track down the killers immediately.
