Ahmed-Bilal win doubles tennis title

ISLAMABAD: Ahmed Nael Qureshi and Bilal Asim defeated compatriots Abubakar Talha and Haider Ali Rizwan to clinch the doubles title of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championship second leg at the PTF Complex on Friday. They comfortably won the doubles final 6-4, 6-3. However, Ahmed and Bilal lost their respective boys singles semi-finals. Korea’s Sion Ji defeated Ahmed 6-4, 6-4 while China’s Xiuyuan Guo outclassed Bilal 6-3, 6-3. In the girls doubles final, Koreans So Yuna and Yeon Joo Cha beat compatriots A Hyun Jo and Chaerin Lee 6-2, 6-3. Karolina Ligai of Kazakhstan defeated Korea’s Chaerin Lee 7-5, 6-3 in the girls singles semi-final while Dinara De Silva of Sri Lanka beat Japan’s Hinata Wada 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the other last-four match.
