NAWABSHAH: Former special assistant to Sindh chief minister, Ismail Dahiri, who was considered to be a close aide to President Asif Ali Zardari, and his younger brother were sent to jail after a court in Daulatpur remanded them in judicial custody for 10 days on Saturday. Ismail Dahiri and his brother Raza Dahiri were shifted to a Nawabshah jail after judicial magistrate Daulatpur-II, Hanan Ali Kalhoro, passed the order. Last week, Hyderabad’s A-Section police arrested Ismail Dahiri and claimed to have recovered 5kg charas and a Kalashnikov from his four-wheel vehicle. He was sent to jail to serve a 14-day judicial remand which ended on Thursday and he was released but soon afterwards, he was rearrested by Shaheed Benazirabad police outside the jail in another case of kidnapping of a woman Uzma Dahiri. Dahiri had alleged at the time of his arrest that he was being victimised at the behest of Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar and warned that if any harm came to him, the home minister should be held responsible.
