RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora on Tuesday visited Holy Family Hospita
RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora on Tuesday visited Holy Family Hospital (HFH) to evaluate healthcare facilities and engage with hospital administration on initiatives aimed at bolstering support for minority communities. This visit highlights the government’s commitment to equitable healthcare access for all citizens, particularly the vulnerable. During the visit, the minister emphasised several crucial directives aimed at improving the quality of care within the hospital, especially for children from underprivileged backgrounds and minority groups. The minister underscored the urgent need for improved care and nutrition for children admitted to the hospital. The administration has been tasked with ensuring that every child receives adequate dietary support, including essential nutrition such as milk, to combat malnutrition and promote overall health. Recognising that healthcare is a fundamental right, Mr Arora directed the hospital to provide free medication to children and minority patients unable to afford treatment. This measure aims to alleviate financial barriers to essential healthcare services. Concerned about the availability of medical staff, the minister instructed the hospital administration to ensure consistent attendance of healthcare professionals. Regular monitoring will be implemented to guarantee timely medical attention for patients. Mr Arora inspected ongoing construction projects within the hospital and expressed dissatisfaction with their progress. The administration was urged to accelerate construction efforts to enhance hospital infrastructure and service delivery. A landmark agreement was announced during the visit, set to be formalised between the minister, the vice chancellor of the medical college and HFH medical superintendent. The MoU will prioritise healthcare services for minority communities.
