Pakistan Railways transfers seven officers in Punjab

LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways (PR) administration on Monday transferred seven officers, including four grade-20 officers. According to notifications, Muhammad Hafeezullah (BS-20) was posted as director general (property & land) at the PR’s headquarters in Lahore after completing the 121st National Management Course. Mr Amjad Iqbal has been relieved of the look-after charge of this post. Rizwanul Haq Hashmi (BS-20) was posted as managing director of the Concrete Sleeper Factory (CSF), relieving Amjad Iqbal of the additional charge. Aqeel Yousaf (BS-20) was temporarily deputed to oversee rolling stock assessment, maintenance, utilisation, and future planning. Iftikhar Hussain was posted as chief project and planning officer, relieving Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi of the additional charge. Jamshad Ali (BS-18), Lahore divisional engineer-1, was transferred to Peshawar as divisional engineer, while Sanaullah (BS-18) was posted as deputy director (Rawalpindi) after being transferred from the divisional engineer office (Peshawar). Hina Irfan was posted as executive engineer, Rohri. LESCO: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has recovered Rs3.81 billion from 128,395 chronic defaulters across Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Okara. A spokesperson for Lesco said Rs568 million was recovered from 17,454 defaulters in the Northern Circle, Rs753 million from 16,158 in the Eastern Circle, and Rs615 million from 15,578 in the Central Circle. In addition, Rs263 million was recovered from 8,750 defaulters in the Southern Circle, Rs298 million from 11,933 in Nankana Sahib Circle, Rs573 million from 15,913 in Sheikhupura Circle, Rs231 million from 19,864 in Okara Circle, and Rs508 million from 22,745 in Kasur Circle. LWMC: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) on Monday initiated a city-wide cleanliness operation, covering 272 bus stops and Lorry Adda, with over 100km of roads mechanically swept and washed daily. In high-traffic areas such as Muslim Town Mor, Ichhra, Shama, Mozang and LOS, roadside scraping is in progress, while cleaning teams are actively working in Johar Town, Samsani Road, Khayaban-i-Firdousi and Global Village. The operation also covers areas such as Nazaria-i-Pakistan Road, the Expo Centre, and G1 Market, where manual sweeping and water sprinkling are being carried out in commercial markets and public places to ensure enhanced cleanliness.
