The Pakistan Super League has unveiled a stellar lineup of 44 overseas players in the Platinum category, including top international cricketers from eight countries, ahead of its Player Draft on January 13. New Zealand's prolific batter Kane Williamson, the second-highest run-scorer in T20Is for his country, headlines the list alongside Tim Southee, the all-time leading wicket-taker in T20 internationals. Joining them are Kiwi stars Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Finn Allen, Jimmy Neesham, Mark Chapman, and Michael Bracewell, presenting an enticing selection for PSL's six franchises. Australia boasts the largest representation, with 13 players in the Platinum category. The lineup includes T20 World Cup 2021 winners Ashton Agar, David Warner, and Daniel Sams. Usman Khawaja, who played for Islamabad United in the 2021 season, is also among the big names. Afghanistan's Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and Naveen-ul-Haq, along with England's Sam Billings and Tymal Mills, both previous PSL champions, add to the pool's depth. South Africa is represented by veterans Imran Tahir, Rassie van der Dussen, Reeza Hendricks, and Tabraiz Shamsi. Sri Lanka's T20I captain Charith Asalanka and Kusal Mendis join the fray, while the West Indies’ Jason Holder leads a group of six Caribbean players in the top tier. From Bangladesh, seasoned campaigners Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan round out the Platinum list. “We are thrilled to announce a 44-strong and exciting contingent of overseas Platinum picks for the HBL PSL 2025 Player Draft,” said Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of PSL. “Combined with the Pakistan stars, we have an exciting pool of talent available. All eyes are now on January 13 when the final squads for the six franchises will be determined.” Naseer expressed gratitude to all players who registered their interest, underscoring the significance of the league's historic 10th edition. "Irrespective of what happens on Draft Day, I deeply thank all the players and wish them good luck,” he added. The draft will finalize the squads for the franchises as the PSL gears up for its milestone season, set to captivate cricket fans worldwide.
