Man dies in road accident

TAXILA: A man lost his life while another was injured critically after two motorcycles collided with each other on G.T. Road near Hattain in the limits of Hazro police station onFriday. Police and hospital sources said Basheer Ahmed was going on his motorcycle while Shahid Zaman was doing wheelie when both collided with each other. As a result, Basheer died on the spot while Shahid was injured critically. Hazro police have registered a case and launched further investigation. Meanwhile, the Wah Cantonment police on Friday busted a motorcycle lifters’ gang and recovered as many as six stolen motorcycles from his possession. According to the police spokesman, acting on a tip-off, a police party raided a hide out of the gang and arrested two of its members. They also recovered six motorcycles from them. In another incident, a suspect involved in broad daylight robbery at a petrol pump was arrested by Hassanabdal police on Friday. According to a police spokesman, the suspect identified as Zohaib Aftab and his accomplice snatched cash, mobile phone and motorcycle from a petrol pump located on G.T. Road near Burhan Interchange and fled away. Police, through human and digital intelligence, traced the suspect and recovered looted items from his possession.
