PESHAWAR: The Buildings Energy Research Centre (BERC) and centre for intelligent systems and networks research, University of Engineering and Technology organised a 15-day training programme on implementation tools for energy conservation building code 2023 at the Bara Gali summer campus. According to a statement issued here on Monday, the training was part of the project titled, “Transformation of the Construction Sector in Pakistan: A Pathway towards Clean, Green, and Sustainable Buildings” supported by GIZ Pakistan and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency (NEECA), Islamabad as the lead executing authority. The participants from various organisations engaged in three hands-on training modules including introduction to the energy conservation building code (ECBC 2023) and its implementation framework, life cycle analysis in buildings and the embodied carbon calculation tool, building energy certification system and building load calculation tool developed by the BERC team. The representatives from CDA, NESPAK, LUMS, LG dept, FGEHA, P&D Sindh, LDA, NED University and others participated in the training.
