Bill Hader was missing from action during Golden Globes 2025 and he had a very good reason for his absence as well. In conversation with , on January 10, a source revealed why the 46-year-old actor didn’t attend the awards ceremony with his partner Ali Wong.  "Bill was not able to attend the Globes due to a pre-existing eye condition that flared up and he was advised by his doctor to stay home and rest," the actor’s representative said. "He and Ali are still together," they confirmed, slamming the speculation over the couple’s alleged breakup. Speculation about the couple’s split began when the 42-year-old comedian attended the award show with her friend as her plus one. The star fueled the rumours when she accepted her award for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for , and did not reference the star but gave a shout out to her friend instead.  "My best friend is here! Mia, thank you so much for all of your love and support throughout the years," she expressed in her speech. "This means a lot. Thank you so much." Although at last year’s Golden Globes, the actor stood by Ali’s side as she won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited series for her iconic role in .
