SUKKUR: A large number of Bugti clansmen blocked Indus Highway at Laro Stop in Tangwani town, Kandhkot-Kashmore district, by torching tyres and junk on the highway in protest against police failure to get their community fellows freed from the clutches of abductors. Norez Khan Bugti, Syed Ahmed Bugti, Asdar Bugti and others, who led the protest, told local media persons that dacoits kidnapped Asadullah Bugti and Manzoor Bugti from Ghouspur-Tangwani link road four days back when they were driving their car and later released a video clip on social media in which handcuffed hostages could be seen appealing to their relatives. They said that they were protesting for the freedom of the hostages. The kidnappers were demanding Rs100 million for the freedom of their relatives, they said. They said that dacoits were looting passengers and taking them away as hostages with complete impunity and without any fear of law while police stood by idly. Before ending the protest after several hours, they warned that they would continue to hold sit-ins on Indus Highway and stage protests till the hostages had been rescued from the clutches of dacoits. Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate of Tangwani, Abdul Sattar Kanrani, took a suo motu notice of throat-slit body of Farhan son of Sultan, a resident Hyderabad, found in Sardar Marri area within the limits of Dera Sarki police station a day before. The judge directed the area’s SHO to appear in court on Tuesday and submit a detailed report on the incident.
