Man killed, set on fire in car by rivals

SARGODHA: A man was murdered and set on fire inside his car on Deowal Bhakki Road in Sargodha. The deceased, identified as Ansar Jalpana from Salam, was reportedly killed by his opponents, according to an eyewitness. The body was burnt beyond recognition, and only ashes remained after the fire consumed the vehicle. The police spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway, and authorities are looking into all aspects of the incident. The district police officer directed senior police officials to submit a detailed report. Initial reports say that the victim died from severe burns inside the vehicle. A heavy police presence, along with forensic and rescue teams, arrived at the crime scene to collect evidence. The body was sent to Bhalwal THQ Hospital for a postmortem examination. A special investigation team, led by the investigation SP, will look into the case further. ARRESTED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Sargodha has arrested a patwari red-handed while accepting bribe for altering revenue records. Muhammad Aslam Talokar, patwari from the Kundian Pacca Circle, was arrested after Gulzeb reported that he had been asked for a bribe of Rs20,000 to correct his name in the revenue records. Gulzeb had already paid Rs10,000 to Talokar, who then demanded an additional Rs10,000. After reporting the matter to the ACE, a team led by Circle Officer Nasir Aziz Khan arrested Talokar during a sting operation, recovering the marked rupees in his possession. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Asif Jhammat. ENCOUNTER: A police encounter in the cantonment police area of Sargodha led to the arrest of Zabi Islam who was injured in an exchange of fire with law enforcement. Zabi, of Chenab Nagar in Chiniot, is reportedly involved in more than nine criminal cases, including robbery, murder, motorcycle theft and possession of illegal weapons. Following a crime, the suspect managed to escape from 49 Tail, but police pursued him, and he took refuge in bushes near Astana Fazal. When confronted by the police, Zabi and his accomplices opened fire. Police claimed that Zabi was injured during the exchange, allegedly from shots fired by his own accomplices, who fled. The police are conducting raids to capture them. During the encounter, the police found cash, illegal weapons and a stolen motorcycle on him.
