A press release issued by the office of DIG Police Sukkur Range said that the ‘dacoits’ identified later as Abdul Khaliq Solangi and Mukhtiar Solangi were killed during a shootout with police near Jagir More (turning) within the limits of Airport police station. It said the ‘robbers’ had intercepted a car near Dua Chowk on Bandar Road and looted Rs10 million, a laptop and mobile phones from Mr Fahad, the cashier of a telecom firm and his driver on Nov 18.
