‘There is no safety’, says survivor of al-Tabin school strike

has spoken with a man who survived Israel’s deadly attack on Gaza City’s al-Tabin school. Describing the scene, Abu Mohammed al-Kafarna said he was “startled by a powerful strike” around 1:30am. “Stones and sand started falling” around the school-turned-shelter, where he was staying with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, he told . At first, he thought the blast had killed his relatives, including his 8-month-old grandchild who was left “buried under the sand”, he said. “But by the grace of God, that wasn’t the case”. “We have been displaced for a long time,” he added. “There is neither safety nor shelter. My daughters and grandchildren have suffered greatly.”
