Dosti International Theatre Festival to start on 9th

LAHORE: Ajoka has announced the schedule for the Dosti International Theatre Festival being held at Alhamra Lahore from Nov 9 till 17. The festival committee set up the festival office at Alhamra and finalised details of the nine-day event. The schedule includes performances from 11 countries including comedy, dance drama, mime, visual comedy and folk theatre. There will also be daily outdoor performances, including traditional story-telling, string puppets, Bhand comedians, gypsy singing, drum circle and folk dances. The festival will open with an opening ceremony on Nov 9 and it will include a spectacular performance by the Wahab Shah Dance Company. There will also be a song on the theme of “dosti” presented by the students of the Sacred Heart Convent School. A team, comprising festival director Shahid Nadeem and Ajoka General Secretary Sohail Warraich, met Secretary Information Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani to apprise him of the preparations for the festival, being supported by the Punjab government and hosted by Lahore Arts Council. Earlier, Ajoka representatives met Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari to thank her as well as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the government support for the festival.
