TOBA TEK SINGH: An unidentified man in his 30s, died instantly after falling from a moving train near Abbas Shaheed Railway Station in Khanewal district on Sunday. Reports said that the deceased was standing at the door of the 12 Down Hazara Express when he fell. A ticket recovered from his pocket showed he was traveling from Sargodha to Karachi. Ten passengers were injured when a bus collided with a truck while attempting to overtake it near Aminpur, Faisalabad, on the M-4 motorway on Sunday. The bus, en route from Peshawar to Karachi, was carrying passengers, nine of whom were identified as residents of Bonair, Peshawar. The injured include Rehman (45), Umer Farooq (25), Bakhtawar Bibi (70), Shazia (26), Muslim Khan (28), Subhan Khan (8), Shakira (30), Roshan (30) and Ali Khan (6). Another injured passenger, Tariq (25), was identified as a resident of Bahawalnagar. They were shifted to local hospitals for treatment. A security guard in Faisalabad’s Elahiabad locality was arrested on Sunday for attempting to rape a 7-year-old girl. According to the FIR filed by the girl’s father, his daughter went out to play when the suspect lured her to his house. Upon hearing her cries for help, he and other residents rushed to the scene, rescued the child and alerted the police. The suspect was arrested in a case registered under sections 376 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mudassar Irshad, constables Ghulam Shabbir and Ali Fraz along with civilian Ahmad on Sunday for unlawfully arresting two citizens in Sahiwal and extorting Rs 3.3 million for their release. Following a complaint and subsequent inquiry ordered by the FIA director, the charges were confirmed, and the officers were arrested. SHO Abid Gill was suspended from service.
