SWABI: Two persons were killed and another was critically injured in a firing incident in Maneri Bala village here on Friday. Swabi city police station SHO Altaf Khan said three men, identified as Fawad Khan, Jawad Khan and Umair Khan, were busy in gossip at a shop in Bar Khamalkhel area when they were attacked. Luqman Khan, a rescue official, said a medical team reached the spot and provided first aid to three injured persons and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors pronounced Fawad and Jawad as dead. Shaukat Ali, a brother of deceased Fawad, registered an FIR, saying Ahmad Ali, Abdul Wali and their nephew, Waqar Ali emerged on the scene and opened fire. As a result, Fawad and Jawad, a passerby, were killed on the spot, while Umair was injured, he added. The cause of the incident was an old enmity. Meanwhile, body of Wakil Khan, who drowned in Bada Dam while fishing, was recovered by a rescue divers’ team on Friday.
