LAHORE: Bushra Bibi, the incarcerated wife of jailed PTI founding chairman Imran Khan, has approached the Lahore High Court seeking details of all undisclosed cases registered against her. In a petition, Bushra Bibi challenged the authorities’ failure to provide information regarding the undisclosed cases and pointed out that she was being targeted for political reasons. The petitioner through a counsel argues that she has been unlawfully imprisoned despite not being required in any criminal case following her acquittal, confirmation of bail and suspension of the sentences in all previous cases registered against her. The petition pleads that the petitioner has become a victim of the state’s visible mischief, with the sole purpose to pressurise her husband. Therefore, if the petitioner has been arrested in any other case without bringing it to her knowledge, it would amount to miscarriage of justice. The petition asks the court to order the respondents to submit a fresh list of disclosed and undisclosed cases against the petitioner and also issue an order preventing her arrest in any such cases. The Punjab police, the FIA, and the interior ministry have been listed as respondents in the petition. Justice Farooq Haider will hear the petition on Monday (tomorrow).
