KP Governor Kundi criticises PTI’s ‘divisive politics’

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has shown its true face by refusing to sit with any political party to make efforts for restoration of peace. “PTI has consistently promoted division and discord. On one hand, law and order situation in the province is deteriorating with each passing day while on the other the provincial ruling party is busy in processions and protests,” he told journalists here on Monday after inaugurating modern facilities at regional passport office. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said that he would continue his struggle for the development of the province including southern districts and especially Dera Ismail Khan, which had been neglected by rulers in the past. He said that five one-window operation desks were opened to help in easing passport-related issues of residents of southern districts. He said that similar passport desks were being set up at Nadra offices in Paharpur and Prova tehsils. Asks KP govt to support Kurram IDPs The governor also thanked Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, Director General of Passports Mustafa Kamal Qazi, the teams from Peshawar and Islamabad and local mayor Yahya Khan Akkakhel for their support. Earlier, the director of passport headquarters, Asam Fawad Mirza, the operational officer at headquarters, Zafar Rehman and the technical head of KP zone, Hassan Sheraz and Abdul Rehman gave a briefing to the governor about the new facilities put in place in passport office. The ceremony was attended by former provincial minister Abdul Haleem Khan Qasuriya, Pakistan Peoples Party divisional president Qaizar Khan Miankhel, former district nazim Azizullah Khan Alizai, PPP district president Malik Farhan Afzal Dhup and general secretary Malik Abid Awan. Talking to journalists, Mr Kundi asked provincial government to support internally displaced persons from Kurram tribal district. He expressed concerns regarding the closure of Kurram road. He said that the area was going to witness several mega projects including Chashma Lift Canal, which would bring green revolution in Dera region besides giving new impetus to agriculture sector of the entire province. He said that 11 companies had submitted pre-qualification applications for the project and its completion would turn the dream of green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a reality. He said that his efforts regarding the international airport at Dera Ismail Khan were started yielding results as directives were issued to local administration for imposition of Section 4 in Giloti or Yarik areas. The governor said that five transmission balancing stations were installed to resolve the issue of low gas pressure in the area. About power loadshedding, he said that the issue would not be politicised but he would take up the matter with authorities concerned. He pledged to resolve all issues of Dera Ismail Khan related to federation on priority basis. He also paid tributes to victims of Army Public School (APS) attack. He said that December 16 was a black day in the history of the province and the country. The governor also paid tributes to police martyrs and said that police were fighting against the menace of terrorism and rendering immense sacrifices along with other security forces. He also mentioned the recent unpleasant incidents during the ongoing polio campaign in which policemen were martyred in Karak and Bannu. He thanked all political parties that recently participated in a multi-party conference held at Governor’s House. He said that PTI showed its true face by refusing to sit with any political party or group for peace efforts. He said that PTI promoted division and discord. On one hand, law and order situation in the province was deteriorating with each passing day while on the other hand PTI was busy in processions and protests, he added.
