TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Friday a member of a gang involved in issuing fake CNICs to Afghan citizens. An official said Shahzad Khan was arrested in Sahiwal. He belonged to South Waziristan. The suspect was allegedly involved in making fake identity cards with the connivance of his accomplices after receiving huge money after forging the Nadra documents. A mobile phone was seized from the suspect in the raid along with Nadra tracking IDs, token receipts, identity cards of Pakistani families and materials such as family registration certificates, domicile, birth certificates, bank deposit slips, and cash transfer receipts which were recovered from the suspects’ mobile phone data. He said the conversation between the elements involved in forgery was also recovered from the mobile phone of the suspects. The involvement of Nadra officials will be investigated from him and raids were under way to arrest his accomplice. EXHIBITION: A handicraft exhibition was organised on Friday under the auspices of the Department of Social Welfare to showcase art and craft products by women in its industrial home. Stalls of NGOs and job placement for women were also set up. Awareness camps were also staged about the provision of small loan facilities by banks. Cash prizes were distributed to the position holders in the contests of bridal make-up, mehndi and paintings while colorful programs were also organised besides screening camp and food stalls. Kidnapping ordeal: A man abducted on Oct 24 from the Bahawalpur bus stand escaped and sought help from motorway police near the Sial Mor interchange on Friday. Tariq Javed was reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint by Irshad Jamil of Sargodha over a dispute concerning a car purchase. He was held captive in a deserted outhouse and chained. Late Thursday night, Javed freed himself, reached the M-2 motorway, and called the police helpline. The motorway police took him into protective custody and later handed him over to Bahawalpur police, where an FIR against the abductor had already been registered. KILLED: The theft of a poultry bird took life of a man while a brother of the deceased was also in a critical condition. Reports said a prized bird of deceased Muhammad Ahmad of Chak 30/10-R, Mian Channu, was stolen and he had got registered a theft case with Kacha Khu police against suspects who fired on him and his brother Aftab Ahmad who were seriously wounded. They were referred by Mian Channu THQ Hospital doctors to Khanewal DHQ Hospital where Ahmad succumbed to his injuries. ENMITY: An ongoing enmity resulted in the murder of Muzaffar Jat, 55, in Chak 104-RB, Badianwala, Faisalabad. Abdul Rauf Jat, along with accomplices, shot Muzaffar, leaving him critically wounded. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the Khurrianwala Rural Health Centre. HELD: The police Khidmat counter in charge at Faisalabad’s DHQ Hospital showed sharp instincts in nabbing an injured robber seeking medical assistance. Muhammad Umair approached ASI Muhammad Amer, claiming he had been shot by a dacoit and needed certification for admission to the emergency ward. Upon verification, the patrolling police informed ASI Amer that a citizen named Ahsan had been shot by a robber in the Madina Town area. The suspect’s description matched Umair. The ASI arrested him, confirmed his identity through the injured victim, who identified Umair as the shooter.
