PESHAWAR: An advanced training course for nurses was launched here on Tuesday. Secretary health Adeel Shah inaugurated the initiative during a ceremony held at Khyber Medical University, according to a press release. The health department in collaboration with KMU and a consortium of British universities has launched the modern training programme. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shah called upon the health professionals to get advanced training in various specialties in order to provide quality care to patients visiting the public sector hospitals. “This modern training initiative will help foster new culture of nursing care in public sector hospitals,” he said. Mr Shah said selected nurses would receive advanced training to provide high-quality medical services in hospitals, leading to significant improvements in healthcare delivery. He said despite challenging conditions, the health staffers were performing duties diligently in the province. He said the training programme was initiated on the special directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The health secretary stressed the importance of enhancing nurses’ professional skills, recognising their vital role in the healthcare system. He expressed optimism that the initiative would not only enhance the professional skills and capabilities of nurses but also patient care in government hospitals.
