OKARA: A young lawyer was allegedly shot dead on Tuesday night by his rivals at Kohla village, 32km away from here. As per the first information report (FIR), Advocate Salman Ali was sitting at the outhouse of his friend Nawaz Jalpana, when armed suspects Bilawal, Asad and Itrat of the same village, along with Mubashar and an unidentified man arrived there. On entering the room, Mubashar, on the direction of Bilawal, shot Salman in his head, leaving him dead on the spot. The victim’s brother tried to nab the attackers, but they managed to escape. On the report of victim’s brother Asadullah, Ravi police have registered a case against five suspects under section 302, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The police say that the victim had a scuffle with Bilawal a couple of days back over some issue.
