DADU: Six police officials, among them a former SHO of Sehwan police station, easily escaped from the district and sessions court premises after the judge rejected their interim bail in a case of extrajudicial murder of Khalil Solangi, who was found dead in lockup at Sehwan police station on July 31. The court of the second additional district and sessions judge of Jamshoro also ordered transfer of the case to FIA after rejecting bail of the accused but the moment the order was pronounced the accused calmly walked out of the court in front of inquiry officer and a large number of policemen, got into their vehicles and drove away. The case against the policemen — ex-SHO Mazhar Naich, head constable Amanullah Mallah, constables Manzoor Ali Manganhar, Mubeen Haleputo, Bashir Ahmad Abro and Imtiaz Ali Memon – was registered on court orders over the request of Sakina Solangi, mother of the victim, Khalil Solangi, who allegedly died from torture in Sehwan police station’s lockup. The torture victim’s mother and his lawyer said that they hoped for justice and would try to have the accused police officials’ bail rejected by the Sindh High Court.
