TAXILA: Police arrested as many as 11 suspects, including members of two gangs, involved in street crimes, and recovered looted goods worth millions. Two men wanted in separate murder cases were also apprehended. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kainat Azhar Khan told the press on Friday that a team from Wah Saddar police, led by Sub-Inspector Mohsin Shah, had busted a gang primarily involved in street crimes. Cash amounting to Rs0.1 million and several stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession. Additionally, ASP Khan reported that the same police team arrested a housemaid who allegedly stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs0.8 million. The team also arrested a vehicle lifter, Arshad Mehmood, who was involved in stealing vehicles from various cities. Furthermore, a separate operation led by Taxila Police Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Rana Kashif resulted in the arrest of two more members of a gang involved in street crimes. In connection with murder cases, ASP Kainat Khan also shared that a suspect named Waleed, who had allegedly shot dead his friend Umair following a dispute and dumped his body in a water canal, was arrested by Taxila police. In a separate case, Wah Cantonment police arrested a man named Sikandar, who had gone into hiding after shooting and killing his wife over a domestic dispute.
