MIRPURKHAS: Three local journalists suffered injuries when a group of armed men attacked them while they were busy covering a scene of altercation between shopkeepers on M.A. Jinnah Road here on Saturday. Ubaidullah Kori, Raja Rashid and Ehsan Kori were filming two groups of shopkeepers exchanging hot words and clashing with each other when some armed men tried to stop the journalists from performing their professional work. When they did not stop they attacked them, snatched their mobile phone sets and broke their mikes, said the victims. They approached town police to register their complaint but police avoided registering their case. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists’ Mirpurkhas chapter president Qamaruddin, general secretary M.A. Rehmani and treasurer Saleem Shaikh demanded authorities ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.
