DERA GHAZI KHAN: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has criticised the opposition parties for attempting to derail progress through protests and marches. “Their sit-ins and protests have been failures. The public sees through their agenda, which harms Pakistan’s prosperity,” she said, expressing concerns at internal divisions, particularly through action of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. “It is unprecedented in Pakistan’s history for a provincial government to attack another province or the federation. Such actions damage the nation’s reputation and deter foreign investors.” She stated this in her address to the inauguration of Kachhi Canal restoration project along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and chief minister Balochistan. Maryam Nawaz lauded the swift completion of the canal restoration project, which was completed in a record time of 45 days. “The Kachhi Canal is not just a waterway but a lifeline connecting Punjab and Balochistan, bringing prosperity to the people of both provinces,” declared Maryam Nawaz. She emphasized the canal’s significance in irrigating Balochistan’s lands and uniting hearts across the provincial borders and said that the project, originally completed during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure in 2017, ahd now been restored under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. The CM underscored that this restoration was a testament to the PML-N’s commitment to Nawaz Sharif’s vision of uniting all provinces through progress. She highlighted recent economic milestones, stating that Pakistan stock market had reached an all-time high of 96,000 points, and inflation dropped from 38pc to 7pc. “Lower inflation is bringing relief to the public and foreign reserves are rising under PML-N’s governance,” she claimed, adding that bread prices had stabilised at Rs12 under the current government, compared to Rs20 during the previous administration. Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the PML-N’s commitment to development, citing landmark projects like motorways, metro bus, and the Orange Line train introduced during their tenure. “Under Nawaz Sharif’s vision and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan will stay on its path of development. We will overcome every obstacle to realize this dream,” she said.
