Bid to shoot surveillance drone foiled

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Law enforcement agencies thwarted a terror attack targeting a surveillance drone near the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial boundary on Wednesday. “When the terrorists attempted to shoot down the drone, they were met with a swift and strong retaliation from law enforcement personnel, forcing them to retreat,” says an official . District Police Officer Syed Ali said police, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, effectively responded to shooting on the surveillance drone, driving the attackers back. He also noted that security at key provincial police posts, including Jhangi and Lakha along the Punjab-KP border, is being further strengthened to ensure regional safety. The DPO further said information was conveyed by intelligence agencies of the presence of terrorists in Jadeywali, the border area of DGK- DIK. He said the area of responsibility overlaps between police stations of Vahowa of tehsil Taunsa Sharif of Dera Ghazi Khan and KP’s Dera Ismail Khan. He said the operation was conducted by the district police of Dera Ghazi Khan comprising Special Operations Unit, Elite Police & Counter Terrorism teams. He said police firing forced terrorists to flee the area while the surveillance drone landed safely.
