SUKKUR: Three armed men reportedly barged into a labourer’s house and subjected his pregnant wife to torture and sexual assault in Mochi Basti area within the limits of Saddar police station in Jacobabad late on Monday night. The labourer alleged a man whom he identified, his brother and another accomplice had subjected his pregnant wife to sexual assault after beating her when he was not at home. The suspects fled as neighbors started gathering outside his house after hearing his wife’s cries, he said. He said that he reported the crime to the area’s police, who immediately arrested two of the suspects and locked them up at the police station. Police issued a letter to the victim and shifted her to Jacobabad civil hospital for medical check-up, said local media persons.
