LAHORE: The State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan is launching a week-long cancer awareness campaign from Oct 1 to 8 across Punjab, offering free screenings and educational resources to women throughout the province. During this week, over 200 empanelled hospitals under the SLIC’s network will provide free screening camps from 9am to 11am. Certified female doctors will conduct medical check-ups and educate women on the critical practice of self-examinations—an essential early detection method that can greatly increase survival rates. According to a press release, the campaign will culminate in a women cancer awareness walk on Oct 9 at 10am at Racecourse Park. Shoaib Javed Hussain, CEO of SLIC, stressed the importance of united efforts, stating: “This initiative reflects our commitment to empowering women with essential knowledge and resources. Prevention and early detection remain our most effective tools in combating cancer and protecting the future of our country. Through Sinfe Ahaan, the State Life’s cancer protection plan for women, and this awareness campaign, State Life and our partnered hospitals in Punjab are taking decisive steps to ensure that women across Pakistan have access to critical healthcare and financial security during challenging times. These efforts mark a significant step toward a healthier, more equitable nation.”
