GUJRAT: Two minor boys who had gone missing a couple of days ago were found murdered in a paddy field in Goman village of Saddar Kamoke in Gujranwala district on Monday. Ameer Hamza (7) and Waqas (9) had left their homes to play in the street on Sept 28 but disappeared after a while. The family and neighbours launched a search and a kidnap case was lodged against unidentified suspects on the report of Nadeem Ahmed, the father of Hamza, on Sept 29. On Monday, the bodies of both boys were found in a field, 3km from their houses. Police shifted the bodies to the Kamoke Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy and later handed over them to the heirs. A spokesman for Gujranwala police said the motive behind the murder of boys and how they were killed were yet to be ascertained as the autopsy report was being awaited. Gujranwala City Police Officer Ayaz Saleem took notice of the incident and directed the officers to trace and arrest the culprits. Asked whether the boys were raped, he said it was premature to say anything without the final medical report. This was fourth incident of the murder of underage boys in the Gujranwala district during September and the locals expressed grave concerns at such incidents.
