RAWALPINDI: A good driver is one who drives safely; accidents do not happen due to luck but because of the driver’s irresponsibility. The trraffic system depends on road engineering, education and enforcement of laws. These conclusions were part of an awareness lecture held arranged by City Traffic Police education wing at Jamiaul Islamia Rawalpindi. On the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima, the education wing has started awareness lectures in religious seminaries with an aim to create traffic awareness. A spokesman for the traffic police said a lecture was delivered on traffic, road safety and traffic signs to the students. Giving the lecture, the CTO said our aim is to make every section of society and every individual aware about the traffic rules. The CTO said that the traffic police will arrange awareness lectures in colleges, universities and all religious madressahs. The aim of launching awareness lectures in educational institutions was to create a civilised society who could obey the traffic rules. Improvement in the traffic system will be possible not by challans, but by raising awareness and following the traffic rules.
