PESHAWAR: The warring sides in the restive Kurram district have agreed that the ceasefire would remain in place for an indefinite period. The agreement came during their meeting with the government-sponsored jirga on Wednesday, according to a statement. The meeting was chaired by Kohat division commissioner Syed Motasim Billah Shah. On the occasion, both the sides agreed that they would continue to attend the jirga sessions until ‘lasting’ peace was restored in the district. The Kohat commissioner said the government would ensure its writ in the region.
