Two injured in Tank roadside bomb blast

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two tribesmen were seriously injured in a roadside bomb explosion in Kot Azam area of Tank district on Wednesday evening, the police said. District police officer Aslam Nawaz Khan confirmed the blast, saying that the injured, identified as Najibullah Mehsud and Sher Alam Mehsud, belonged to the Mehsud tribe of Upper South Waziristan district. He said that they were on way to their residence in Kot Azam area of Gomal Bazaar when a remote-controlled bomb planted along the Kot Azam Road in Batyari area went off. “The explosion left both the men critically injured. They were initially taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank for first aid, and later referred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan for further treatment,” DPO Nawaz said. He said that the police cordoned off the area and launched a search for the perpetrators.
